Message from the Principal

My Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the most blessed Sacrament.
I love you above all things, and I desire to possess You within my soul.
I believe it because You have said it,
and I am ready to give my life to maintain this truth.

Dear Parents and Guardians

CHICKENS – There is huge excitement in our school as our chickens have hatched! The Science Room is currently the most popular room in the school. Our Kindy students have also locked in a time to see the newest members of the St Peter’s community. The chickens will stay in the incubator this week and will then be in the brooder next week for students to be able to have a hold! They will certainly be loved and will have Dougal keeping a sharp eye on proceedings!

YEAR 4 FIRST COMMUNION – It is a special time of the year for our Year Four students as they continue to prepare to receive their First Holy Communion on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd and 29th and 30th August. We ask that you keep the students and their families in your prayers over the next few weeks as we all look forward to the students taking the next step in their faith journey.

SURF ONLINE SAFE – Many thanks to the large audience we had attend the Paul Litherland Cyber Safety workshop. The feedback has been extremely positive, and many parents shared with me their desire to have us engage on a regular basis, with Paul. We have ensured that he is locked in to work with students and parents in 2021. My sincere appreciation to our community for their support of this school event. I congratulate Miss Phoebe for co-ordinating the workshop and the many staff who attended the evening.

STATE CROSS COUNTRY – We know our students have trained extremely hard for the State Cross Country event coming up on Thursday 13th August. Our students will be competing at the UWA Sports Club McGillivray Oval. I extend my sincere thanks to Miss Miles and Mr Nettleton for preparing our students for the event. Both teachers have provided before and after school training to have our students compete at their very best. We know they will represent our school with pride, and we wish them every success.

STUDENTS NOT RETURNING TO ST PETER’S IN 2021 – Just a reminder to any of our families/students who may not be returning to St Peter’s in 2021
(not including Year 6 Graduates). It would be very much appreciated if you would advise our Enrolments Officer (Mrs Cunningham) in writing at at your very earliest convenience as we have an extensive waiting list.

BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT PROGRAM – Our staff have worked extremely hard on developing our whole school approach to emotional regulation and class support of student behaviours. We now have our Year 6 leaders developing the Student Code of Conduct, based on feedback from every class in the school – Kindy through to Year 6. We look forward to sharing our new Behaviour Support Program and Student Code of Conduct with all our families, in Term 4.

Ciao and keep smiling

Pina Hutcheson
