Message from the Principal

O God, you have called us in the fragment of time to lead minister to out St Peter’s Primary School community.
Send your Spirit into out hearts and minds as we ponder and plan for the school year.
In the words of Archbishop Romero:
“We cannot do everything and there is a sense of liberation in realising that.
This enables us to do something and to do it very well.
It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way,
an opportunity for the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest.”
God of wisdom, may we be ever renewed in our faith and trust in you.
We acknowledge your presence amongst us,
just as the early believers who walked the way to Emmaus were conscious of your presence in their midst.
Help us to act in openness and sincerity as we work together to support every student,
staff member and parent within our St Peter’s Primary School community.
We ask this in Jesus’ name
Amen

Dear Parents and Guardians

“The season of Lent comes along to remind us that, no matter what dangers or difficulties we face, we are never abandoned by God who remains with us,” said Perth Archbishop, Timothy Costelloe, in celebrating Ash Wednesday Mass this week. In his 2022 Lenten Message, Pope Francis has said Christians are called to sow goodness their entire lives, but even more so during Lent. This Lenten season we will work together to overcome fear and sadness and demonstrate daily our commitment to supporting one another.

WOW WEEK – Another fabulous response to WOW week. Students, staff and parents provide feedback that they enjoy the extra time it gives everyone to experience the ‘simple pleasures’ in their lives.

STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – On Friday, our staff updated their training in the treatment of Asthma and Anaphylaxis. Our day of planning around Numeracy and school data will ensure targeted learning for our students as we develop our Numeracy Curriculum. Our staff also had an opportunity to develop shared understandings around Level 2 Public Health Measures.

COVID UPDATE – I have included a copy of the Western Australian Government Level 2 Guidelines and Restrictions. Level 2 Public Health Measures I sincerely thank our community for their support of the mask wearing in Years 3-6. We have been overwhelmed by the shared commitment in keeping our students and community well.

FAREWELLS – We wish both Mrs Holly Mousley and Mrs Natalie Kenny all the very best as they begin maternity leave next Friday. They will both make amazing mothers and will be sorely missed here at St Peter’s. We look forward to the cute baby photos that will follow.

I wish all our families a wonderful long weekend with their loved ones. We will see you all back on Tuesday 8th March. I will be on Long Service Leave from Tuesday 8th March to Friday 11th March. Please contact Mrs Courtney Caputi, courtney.caputi@cewa.edu.au or Mr Paul Brennan, paul.brennan@cewa.edu.au with any concerns, in my absence.

Ciao and keep smiling
