Message from the Principal

Prayer for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Almighty and everlasting God,
You have taken up body and soul
into the heavenly glory the Immaculate Virgin Mary,
Mother of Your Son: Grant, we beseech You,
that, ever intent upon heavenly things,
we may be worthy to be partakers of her glory.
Through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
One God,  forever and ever.

Dear Parents and Guardians

ASSUMPTION MASS – Last Friday, our school community celebrated the Feast of the Assumption with a Liturgy of the Word. Our wonderful Spiritual Ministry led us in prayer on this Holy Day of Obligation. The Catholic Church teaches that the Virgin Mary, “having completed the course of her earthly life was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.” I congratulate our students who reverently commemorated the death of Mary and her bodily assumption into Heaven.

NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK – reminds us that we should always be respectful of and fascinated by the world we live in. The theme this year is, “Deep Blue: Innovation for the future of our oceans.” Throughout the week, during their Science lessons, our students have engaged in fun learning, from learning about ocean slime, water cycles, water pollution and clouds. Many thanks to Miss Phoebe for co-ordinating a Science week that just kept on giving! Please see below for fantastic photo evidence!

STATE CROSS COUNTRY EVENT – Congratulations to those students from Years 3-6 who represented the school last Thursday at the State Cross Country Event at UWA. The team was fabulous in terms of behaviour, effort and determination. We thank Miss Miles and Mr Nettleton for the 100% and above that they put into preparing our students and for always being so encouraging of them. Many thanks to our parents who followed the spectator procedures and supported from a distance. Your attendance is greatly appreciated.

NEW COVID-19 VISITOR PROCESS – The health and well-being of our students, staff and visitors are our highest priority and, as such, we have implemented additional screening processes.
If you are visiting the school, you will be required to sign in at the office and complete a COVID-19 self-declaration form. As always, we require all visitors to social distance with other adults in the room and use hand sanitiser provided.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION – May we pray for our beautiful Year 4 students who will be receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion over the coming two weekends. Thank you to all families, the Parish and staff for preparing the students so well.

Together with their family and teachers, may the life-giving Bread always feed their soul and nourish their spirit.

Ciao and keep smiling

Pina Hutcheson
