Message from the Principal

Heavenly Father, you gather us together in our faith journey
Trusting in you, we join one another as a community
A community of faith on a journey
A journey to grow ever deeper in our faith
In our Love
In our Desire to long for you
Along the way, remind us of your Love
Of your sacrifice for us
Of your ever-mindful presence
Let us never lose hope along the way
Help us to be strong
Strong in Faith
Strong in Love
Strong in our Desire to be ever mindful of your presence
For it is in your strength and Love and the Graces you bestow upon us,
that we can go out and share in your Love and Faith with all those in our community.

It is in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reins with you
and the Holy Spirit one God For ever and ever

Dear Parents and Guardians,

FIRST HOLY EUCHARIST – Our Year Four children are currently celebrating the Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist. We celebrated with two Masses last weekend and look forward to two more Masses this weekend. This sacrament is the source of great graces that sanctify us and help us grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ. As Catholics, we believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive Christ’s Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God. The services at the weekend were beautiful and reverent. I thank the hard work of our Year Four teachers for working closely with Mrs Neville and the Parish community to ensure the children were so well prepared for the Sacrament.

SPORTS CARNIVAL – Congratulations to Siena Faction for taking out the win at our Sports Carnival last week. We were blessed with an absolute gorgeous day which was full of fun and excitement. It was heart warming to see the support and encouragement among our students regardless of faction or year level. Thank you to the incredible amount of families who turned up to cheer on the children. I would like to say a big thank you to Miss Miles for coordinating an amazing Sports Carnival and thank you to all the staff and parents who assisted in setting up and packing away at the start and end of the day. It was greatly appreciated.

SCHOOL PHOTOS – The positive feedback that I have received from both staff and parents regarding the school photographs this year has been greatly appreciated. The staff from 3P Photography were exceptional practitioners and we look forward to seeing the results.

NAPLAN RESULTS  – On Tuesday 24th September, our Year Three and Five students will bring home their NAPLAN results. Please remember that although the assessment provides parents and schools with an understanding of how individual students are performing at the time of the tests, NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process – it does not replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance.

PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE – As our Performing Arts Festival 2019 concludes, I am delighted to inform you all that St Peter’s have won two Shields. The Contemporary Band Primary Award, as well as, the Zenith Commendation Award for Sustained Improvement. This is for the third year in a row!
I would like to congratulate all artists, dancers, singers, speakers and musicians for representing our school to the highest possible level. Again, a big thank you to Mrs Powell, Mr Parry, Mrs Allen, Miss Carter, Mrs Gibbons and all other teachers involved in organising and supporting our students over the many performances.

FATHERING PROJECT – (From Mrs Hutcheson) – Dads have a powerful impact on their kids. Fabulous discussion at the breakfast held at the University Club of WA. It was a privilege to be invited by the Dads of St Peter’s. I look forward to supporting their initiatives throughout the coming years.

TERM FOUR IMPORTANT DATES – After reviewing our current procedures for the end of the school year, we have made some changes to the calendar which are now available on our online calendar.
Further details will be available in Term 4. These important changes are:

Week 7 – Friday 29 November: End of Year Farewell Mass at 9:45am.
Week 8 – Friday 6 December: End of Year Concert commencing at 11am.
Week 9 – Friday 13 December: Final Assembly announcing awards & scholarships commencing at 8:30am.

UNIFORM SHOP – In 2020, we will be changing the way that parents can order and buy our school uniforms. This will be done online or via the superstore, Uniform Concepts. More details will follow in Term 4, but I can assure you that there will not be a change to the design or colour of our school. Our second hand uniform store will still be operating on school grounds.

Have a great weekend!
