Message from the Principal

“Prayer is first of all listening to God. It’s openness.
God is always speaking; he’s always doing something.
A spiritual life without prayer is like the Gospel without Christ.
The real ‘work’ of prayer is to become silent and listen to the voice that says good things about me.
Prayer is not what is done by us, but rather what is done by the Holy Spirit in us.
To pray is to walk in the full light of God and to simply say, without holding back,
‘I am human and you are God’.”

Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

YOUTH SUMMIT – Today Evangeline Frew (5B), Sarah McGuire (5M) and Sasha Thuo (5W) attended the Catholic School Youth Summit at Chisholm Catholic College. The Australian Catholic Bishops’ Commission designated 2018 as the ‘Year of Youth,’ aiming to have strong dialogue and active engagement of young people focused on reconnection and renewal of a new generation of young people in the life of the Church.
To support the Year of Youth, Evangeline, Sarah and Sasha were provided with this opportunity to network and learn about Catholic leadership. The girls thoroughly enjoyed their day!

YEAR FIVE SUMMER CARNIVAL – Today our Year Five students participated in an Interschool Summer Carnival at Noranda and Yokine. The students played either Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee or Cricket. The weather was beautiful, and an enthusiastic, positive attitude was displayed by all our competitors which led to many excellent performances.

KINDY ORIENTATION SESSIONS – Last Friday, today and again on 24th November, we will welcome the newest members of our school community at our Kindy Orientation Sessions. The one-hour sessions provide the students with the opportunity to meet their teacher for 2019, familiarise themselves with the classroom and also meet some new friends.
The Kindy Orientation Sessions are also a fantastic way to welcome new parents into our school community; providing parents with the opportunity to meet one another, as well as receive information about how they can assist their child/ren with being prepared for school.

God Bless
