Newsletter – Friday 18 June 2021

Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians

MISSION DAY – On Friday 2nd July, we will celebrate our patron St Peter. We will commence the day with a Whole School Mass, and we welcome our families to this celebration. Throughout the day, we will raise funds for Catholic charities through class stalls and our first, ‘Colour Run’. White or light shirts are the order of the day to show off our colours. We hope to have some fabulous photographs for you in our last newsletter for the term. Please click here for more information – St Peter’s Colour Runnn

CONFIRMATION – Our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation over the weekend (Saturday 12th June and Sunday 13th June). On behalf of our school community, we congratulate our students on their reverent participation in the preparation for the Confirmation celebration and celebrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit that were bestowed upon them. We sincerely thank their parents and teachers, Mrs Jo Carbone, Mr Justin Fiume and Mr Matt Nettleton, for supporting our students in their faith journey. Our sincere gratitude to Father Jeronimo and Faith Rico for assisting in the preparation of our students.

PARISH FOOD FETE – St Peter the Apostle Church will be holding its International Food Fete on Sunday 27th June commencing at 9.30am. Our staff will be contributing both their time and culinary expertise to this Fete, and I look forward to seeing our school community supporting this wonderful event. Please see further on in this newsletter for more information.

SACRED SAINTS AND WINTER CARNIVAL – I was very proud of our Year 6 Netball, Soccer and Football teams over the past two weeks. They represented our school with enthusiasm and pride in rain and sunshine! I sincerely thank our amazing St Peter’s staff and parents for their dedicated support as coaches, umpires, and cheer squads. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and represented our school with pride.

SCHOOL PHOTOS – A reminder that these will take place on 28th, 29th and 30th June and children should be in their winter uniform. Please see further on in this newsletter for more information.

REPORTS – I have been impressed by the level of detail provided to parents, by their class teachers, in reporting progress on each child in their class. Many hours are dedicated to this process and I am sure the snapshot you will receive on Wednesday 30th June via SEQTA at 3pm, will be no surprise. Teachers ensure that through work sent home, emails, SeeSaw and face to face meetings every parent has a good indication of their child’s development prior to the formal report. Please do not hesitate to contact you class teacher with any queries you may have.

CONGRATULATIONS – Heartfelt congratulations are extended to Sophie Stajka and her husband Alex on the safe arrival of Elira Jennifer Stajka. The staff has organised a dinner roster for our new parents and we look forward to cuddles as soon as they are ready.

Ciao and keep smiling

Pina Hutcheson
