Message from the Principal

PRAYER
Living God, by your grace equip, enable and enthuse me so that I may walk the way of Christ.
May your power flow in me, through me and from me.

Amen

On All Souls Day,
I take this opportunity to remember those who have preceded us at St Peter’s
and have been part of our families and community.
Eternal rest grant unto them and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

KINDY 2019 INFORMATION NIGHT – On Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure of welcoming parents who have a child commencing Kindergarten at a meet and greet information session. It is an exciting time for all and there is great anticipation for the journey ahead. It is a particular delight as a community to be welcoming the families who have their first child starting school. We also had the opportunity to introduce the newly appointed Principal to St Peter’s, Pina Hutcheson.
I highlighted the value that is placed on the partnership with parents that in a majority of cases will span a decade or more. I also talked to the parents of the importance of establishing regular routines of reading to children and engaging in play. It is the most important thing you will do for your child but it is often the first thing we drop off in busy schedules. Mem Fox reminds us that when we get involved in reading aloud we can have such a rollicking time and we relate so warmly to our children as we read together it becomes a delicious ‘chocolate’ kind of experience.
I thank Rita Panebianco and our staff team involved in preparing and presenting the information session.

PRE-PRIMARY CARNIVAL – Today the Pre-Primary children participated in their own Sports Carnival and they thoroughly enjoyed the activities that were part of the program. It was also pleasing to see the parents and extended family members who came along to create an encouraging and supportive atmosphere for the children.
My thanks to Alison Miles and the Pre-Primary staff team for organising and conducting this event.

REMEMBRANCE DAY – Sunday 11 November is Remembrance Day, where Australians show that they have not forgotten over 100,000 Australian service men and women who have given their lives in wars in the last 100 years.
On Friday 9 November, our Pre Primary Blue class will mark this occasion with a specially themed Mass at 9.45am in the Church. We do hope you can attend.

CANTEEN NEWS – We welcome Olyvia Browne to our St Peter’s staff as co Canteen Manageress.

God Bless
