COVID-19 Pupil Free Days

25 March 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians

RE: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

As more and more St Peter’s families are choosing not to send their children to school and remote learning has become increasingly more important, St Peter’s has made the decision, with the support of Catholic Education WA, to bring forward two professional planning days, after the Early Close on Monday 30th March.

TUESDAY 31ST MARCH AND WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL WILL BE PUPIL FREE DAYS AT ST PETER’S PRIMARY SCHOOL.

This enables our teachers to plan, prepare and test for the delivery of quality remote online and offline teaching and learning. It will also allow for all areas in the school to be cleaned and sanitised to assist in the prevention of the spread of the COVID-19.

For those families involved in essential services who are unable to make alternative arrangements for these days, the school will provide a skeleton staff to supervise students who will undertake the remote learning activities set by their classroom teacher. If you intend for your child to attend school on these Pupil Free Days, you must contact
Mrs Kelly Dalton on kelly.dalton@cewa.edu.au by 3pm tomorrow, Thursday 26th March.
If you are a parent who is currently Working from Home, please keep your children at home on these two pupil free days.

We understand that this may be an inconvenience to families but we ask for your understanding that we are doing this for the safety of all at St Peter’s and to ensure, going forward, that the remote teaching is successful.

School will recommence on Thursday 2nd April.

Stay Healthy, Stay Safe and Stay United

Mrs Pina Hutcheson
